Aunty Carla comes to visit

After a few near misses, Aunty Carla arrived and spent the day with the girls. She was unable to make the party yesterday, so came laden like a packhorse with... you guessed it - even more Dora gear.

Lia got a whole stack of new Dora figurines to play with, as well as a new pencil case, markers and crayons. Kyra got a snazzy new knitted jacket, leggings and a giant stripey lollipop.

Note to Aunty Carla: always buy sweets in lots of two ;-)

We took the opportunity to get some much needed group shots of the two monkeys with their Aunty Carla.

Since they were wearing their new cord skirts from Grandma Mega, Prin and Tan AGAIN today (but this time with the matching shirts) we thought it would be good to get a few of the girls together so GranMega could have a pic on her fridge.

Lia's 2nd Birthday

We had a small family afternoon tea for Lia's 2nd birthday. She had asked for a "Balloon Cake" and after hours of vague scheming, I resorted to trying water bomb balloons to bendy straws and sticking them into the cake.

She did seem a teeny bit suspicious of the balloons however, so I tried to make it up to her with a Dora Candle.

She seemed happy with it and was quick to stick her finger into the cake for a sample before the main event. She received a shockingly large number of Dora paraphenalia and she is in Dora Utopia at the moment.

The fave present of the moment though seems to be the scooter that we bought her. This has resulted in her and Kyra hooning around the house on their respective scooters. Must get a pic of that soon.

Some pics from the party below. Uncle Previns phone rang in the middle of things, so pics were a bit blurry ;-)

After the 3rd attempt at blowing out the candle, we were afraid the cake would be covered in spit, so Paul and I helped her out.

Kyra and Lia wearing skirts they got from Grandma Mega, Prin and Tan for their birthdays. They were entranced and had to put them on right away.
